First graders have a unique sense of wonder about everything around them and an enthusiastic desire to learn and grow. My students face challenges daily and overcome them with a sense of strength and curiosity.
The current pandemic has left our educational leaders with many challenges in making safe decisions to meet our students' educational needs, especially as we continue navigating the ups-and-downs of full-time, in-person learning safely and healthily.
My students have started their educational careers under unprecedented circumstances. They show enthusiasm and dedication by returning to our school building with a positive attitude and a desire to learn.
We are an urban school community that has provided tools and opportunities that promote academic success, motivation, problem-solving, independence, personal growth mindset, and fostering 21st-century skills that will prepare our students for the future. We are a family with diverse cultural backgrounds and academic abilities. Our technology-rich student environment allows our students to show their learning outcomes using various programs and applications creatively. The area around our school is growing daily, encouraging a large student population, which enhances our diverse classrooms.
My Project
As we continue to learn in-person during our ongoing fight against COVID, we are eager to find ways to keep our classroom a safe place to learn. An air purifier would clean our room from contaminants, as we spend most of our day within our classroom. Extra filters to keep on hand for the air purifier will allow us to continue breathing clean air daily. As our students are required to wear face masks during school, keeping extra masks handy will allow my whole class to be safe and protected, even when masks break or get messy.
With the help of an air purifier, filters, and face masks, we will be able to take our cleanliness and sanitation to the next level!
My students have enjoyed being back in the classroom this school year and we want to avoid returning to distance learning. Our class works hard every day to ensure our learning environment is clean and sanitized so we can continue learning in the safest way possible. With these additional tools, we are supporting our ability to stay healthy and grow our knowledge while remaining in the classroom.
