My Project
Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Lopez. I am a dual language middle school teacher in Ridgewood Queens, NY. This year I have both 6th and 7th grade Dual Language students. Almost, if not all of my students, are immigrants that have migrated here from other countries with little to absolutely no English. They also arrive here with no means to purchase supplies or necessities for the school year. In addition, they don't have the luxuries of home when they arrive here to remind them of the comforts of home.
The supplies that I am requesting you help me provide my students with are tools needed to be successful in the classroom , (paper, pencils, glue, folders, the basics, etc...) and some comfy seating so they're comfortable,(reading nook seating) .
This will alliow my students to thrive and remain focused,
As their teacher, it is my job to make sure that my students feel supported and comforted. My job is not only to educate them, but to comfort, console, encourage, believe in, build them up, as well as love and nuture as if they were my own.
Children spend a great amount of time with their teachers throughout their lives. Probably spending most of their days and lives in the presence of their educators. I want to begin their year with confidence and determination. Your donations, you will help my students start off on the right track.
