Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students in my school, like so many others, are working diligently on different reading skills and need different ways to reinforce those skills. My students need fun and exciting ways to work on skills reviews.
I teach 38 of the greatest 3rd grade students!
They are all hard workers but all attend a Title One School. Many of my students love learning and love reading. However, they all need some fun way to review skills that we have worked on during class. I would love to see my students find learning fun and exciting!
My Project
The games that I have requested correlate with our list of standards that we teach in 3rd grade. Each game would be played during our typical school day, during reading club, and in our after school reading club time. These games would be used to reinforce skills that have been taught. By introducing games as review techniques my students will have fun while working on more reading skills.
Making learning fun and exciting is something that all teachers try to do.
By implementing these games I will be showing my students that learning can be fun. These games would help bridge the gap between what we discuss in the classroom and what my students have to do on a daily basis when they are reading. By reinforcing the skills taught my students will increase their reading comprehension and reading knowledge!
