it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hello! My students are bright, funny, energetic, amazing children with special needs. They all bring something unique and beautiful to the table and are so fun to be around. These kids bring so much light to our staff whether it be by telling us knock-knock jokes, giving us a hug when we need it the most, or showing us their latest dance moves! We are so proud of the way that they've overcome the obstacles that may come along with having special needs. We have huge celebrations for achieving skills that may seem minor to others, but mean the world to our children, their families, and our staff. We work hard to make these goals achievable by creating a learning environment that uniquely matches the needs and personalities of our wonderful students. Unfortunately, our school receives very little funding and we need help to achieve our goals.
My Project
The items on my list give my students a fresh and exciting way to learn. The items I choose are often used by speech therapists to target necessary speech and language goals such as making inferences with the Super Duper Inferencing cards, using the correct form of words with the Super Duper Verb Tenses cards, being able to categorize with the Lakeshore Vocabulary Folder and Function Match ups, and so many other essential skills. This will enrich their communication and problem-solving skills, giving them better access to learning in their classrooms. As a low-funded school, we are constantly on the hunt for materials such as these to enhance learning opportunities.
