My Students
My students have a variety of interests, talents, and needs. They are all full of questions and eager to learn as much as they can. They arrive at school most mornings ready to have a great day! It makes my day when the students get off the bus with big smiles on their faces!
Each one of them have their own unique way to learn and to remain engaged during lessons whether its utilizing a rocker chair for sensory purposes or using manipulatives to spell out words instead of writing them.
Due to the varying ways each student learns, we incorporate many strategies to teach each lesson.
A majority of my students come from families that struggle financially so I want to make sure that each of my students needs/wants are met every day that they come to school!
My Project
I have students with some sensory needs so them being able to have fidgets readily available will help them to remain on task. My students also have a wide range of how concepts are learned and retained. Having many choices of how to teach concepts makes the learning of them fun! Bingo and Legos are a huge hit!
Social skills are a necessity in life.
My students ability to be able to have these social skills is very important to me. Them being able to learn different types of social skills using games will make it enjoyable and they will want to participate.
Having a clean and germ free classroom is essential to learning. Healthy students=more success! My students being able to earn incentives/rewards even if it is something as simple as a stamp or sticker is a huge motivating factor.
