My Kindergarten class has 24 bright kids full of energy who are always eager to learn. My students are part of an outstanding dual immersion program. I teach 90% of the curriculum in Spanish. In my class, there are native Spanish speakers and English native speakers. Some even speak a third or fourth language!
Our school is unique compared to the other schools in the district.
Our school is the only Title I school in the district because of the high number of students that are economically disadvantaged. Some families have limited access to educational resources outside of school.
My Project
As a kindergarten teacher I know that my students learn better when they are having fun. When they are engaged in an activity, learning takes place naturally.
Having access to diverse art materials and games my students will be able to easily learn and practice important academic content.
My students will learn important math and literacy concepts through games that address simple addition, subtraction and comparing quantities. Also, through hands on activities, my students will practice basic skills like letter formation and spelling.
Finally, STEM activities, that can be connected to literature will promote imagination, creativity and most importantly, team work.
I'm hoping to provide my curious and sweet kindergarteners a fun learning experience that will last a lifetime!
