Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in the southwest side San Antonio, Texas. We are under the Title I umbrella, which means that most of my students are coming from low income households. Supplies and materials are always in great need at our school. Although we are in need or supplies and materials, my students are always excited and eager to learn new things. They work really hard with what is available to them, and they never complain about what they need. My students are extremely creative, thoughtful and full of energy! My students love hands-on projects, and excellence at projects that engage them and challenge them to think outside the box. No matter what is going on at home, my students come to school willing and ready to work and try new things. I love my students! They are truly an inspiration!
My Project
The Big Joe Chairs will help make self-selected reading fun again. The students will be excited and want to sit in them and read. We all know that reading opens doors to the future!
Our grade level sends home monthly calendars for both attendance accountability and parent-teacher communication logs.
We use a different color paper for every month. So to have some in stock would be great.
Also, the rollable computer desk would help with trying to incorporate flexible seating into my classroom. Students love to stand and work. Anything that is going to help them get the job done.
