This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a kindergarten teacher at a Title I school in a low-income, high-poverty school district where 99% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. These students overcome adversity every day when they simply walk through the classroom door.
My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom, and, yet, they are always excited to come to school each morning and are willing and ready to learn.
With the requested language arts and math games/activities, my students will reinforce concepts and skills taught and at the same time, learn how to work cooperatively in their small groups. The activities will acquire skills that will help them in number sense, counting, letters, sounds and word building.
These activities will ensure that my students will be amazing mathematicians and readers in the future.
