My Students
I teach 7th grade Language Arts to students who come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Some students have lived in Greenville, SC for their entire lives, while others are new to South Carolina or are recent immigrants to the USA. What unites them is their creative and caring natures.
My students are motivated young writers who have unlimited potential.
With the right tools, they will be able to unlock this potential to reach new levels of personal and academic achievement. When they are excited about an assignment, they are able to overcome any challenge. They especially get excited and engaged when they are able to meet individual milestones, given a challenge, and a reason to learn.
My Project
The materials will be used in an ESL-inclusion classroom to motivate reluctant readers and help them achieve success in both reading and writing. Both of these story sets will be used to engage students and immerse them in the writing process through relevant, exciting, and fun articles, poems, and narratives.
The first step for success is having the appropriate materials for school.
With these materials, my students will have what it takes to reach their learning goals. Students will be able to use these texts to practice identifying important language arts skills through the texts and duplicate these skills in their writing. Pencils will allow all students to fully participate in class without losing valuable time to find or borrow a pencil.
