My Project

Students spend about 1,500 hours each year. Now, while I strive to provide plenty of movement opportunities for my students throughout the day, it's just inevitable how much instructional time requires my students to be sitting down and taking notes. My goal for trying to create a classroom environment with flexible seating options for all students begins now. Through the generosity of your donations, students will be able to focus better as they are in a comfortable space that allows them to get the wiggles out and limits distractions of playing with their name tags or desk mates near them.

I've had the pleasure of student teaching in the same school I received my first job for next year, and I've been blessed with the opportunity to get to know the students in my first-year of teaching.

Yes, I'm ahead of the curve in fostering my relationships with my future students. And it's through these relationships that I've learned how these students learn best, and it's through two things: outside of the confines of a chair and desk and lots of movement (so...sort of the same thing)! Having the wobble stools at a desk will, again, not only improve focus skills, but they will also increase balance skills and posture. Plus- I believe any student would love to pair the wobble seat they've been so respectful in all day and move around the room with a TV desk! The tall stools provide the same concept- without the wobble factor. Instead of at a standard table desk, I can pair multiple students at a high top table near the back of the room without obscuring the vision of other learners.
