My Students
The students at GBMS are very diverse! Our kids come from a variety of backgrounds and types of families. No two kids are the same! 75% of the population of our school falls below the poverty level. Our kids achieve at different levels, but they dream BIG and want to be successful in life and school.
The kids in my classroom want real lessons and knowledge that can be applied to life, but most importantly, they want to create their own learning.
They LOVE to figure something out for themselves, even if it does take a tremendous amount of teacher support. They like CREATING knowledge.
Our goal is to help students "walk in their destiny." The kids in my class have to carve out their own destiny because success is not just handed to them, they have to work hard and earn it!
My Project
A green screen kit will give students across our school the ability to use STEAM skills to create video and photo presentations using the content they learn in their classes. Students will be able to create unlimited backgrounds for videos for the school news show, research presentations, interviews, etc. Because the green screen will allow students to experiment with film and photography technology in a controlled environment, students will gain valuable experience with emerging technology.
The Green screen will allow students to take their video presentations to another level.
Students will learn and use digital art techniques and be able to create videos that feature themselves and their classmates in unique settings without leaving our school. Students can use the green screen kit to experiment with stop motion animation and video design elements. The green screen kit is adaptable and students will be able to use it with any technology they have access to at our school.
