My Students
I love everything about all of my students! They are all special and eager to learn regardless of their disabilities. The majority of my student have physical and/or learning disabilities. I am a special education teacher and have taught reading for 19 years to special needs students. I have taught Pre-K -12th grade and enjoy teaching the students and enjoy seeing their progress. It is very rewarding when students are successful and make progress! Most of my students are significantly academically and socially below grade level. Sadly COVID-19 has deeply hampered my special needs students learning process. Numerous of the students have been affected with the Virus and have not been able to attend in person classes. This has definitely hampered the learning process and set the students back. Other family members have been affected with the virus resulting in quarantine which also interfered with the students' learning. We are located in a very rural area in southeast Oklahoma with the majority of families experiencing poverty. My student would be overwhelmed with joy at the approval of this project! I strongly feel that with this project I could get my students back on track!
My Project
Learning has been very difficult for the 2021-2022 school year as I have had students infected with Covid-19 or quarantined as family members have been infected. These resources that I have requested would greatly assist in the learning process in the future.
I have chosen materials that include hands on learning which students highly enjoy.
Reading resources that will maintain their attention and learning.
I have also requested learning games as students love to play games and they are learning at the same time. This is a strong area for my special needs students.
Math manipulatives that I have requested are great for hands on learning as well.
