The first word that comes to mind when I am asked to describe my students is energetic! They come in the classroom full of energy in the mornings ready to learn. They can not wait to learn something new, ask questions, and do anything that involves hands on learning. I love this age group - they are like sponges and wanting to learn everything. I have found projects and activities that involve working with something and someone really gets the students minds going and growing. They ask questions and resolve problems together. They work up solutions and see how there are sometimes other ways to get the same result. Project based learning is something we love doing as a class.
