Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The furniture provided will be used to assist students as they learn throughout the day. The items were specifically chosen because they provide comfort and support, especially for our more robust high school students. Research shows that adolescents sitting for 6+ hours in standard classroom seating is physically detrimental. The bookcase is needed for students to place their binders
By providing students with physical comfort, we can ease their minds and regulate their emotions which will prepare them for learning.
Sitting in a desk and chair is not the most ideal learning environment for all students. As a student, I experienced back and knee pain from athletics. I hoped that I would have had a more comfortable seating option than the hard chair and desk.
