This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By donating to this project, you will be providing our typically under-resourced students with the opportunity to move comfortably around our learning space, and to experience vivid and colorful learning materials. Living in Flagstaff, AZ, we are a border town to the Navajo Nation (one of the hardest hit communities through the COVID-19 pandemic). Therefore about half of the students we serve are Indigenous learners, and could greatly benefit from color-printed images that show the beauty that their culture holds.
Each school year we celebrate the incredible diversity at our school with various Spirit Weeks and festivals.
For these celebrations, students will frequently create digital presentations that they would like printed, and the addition of a color printer in our classroom would greatly improve our efforts to publish student work.
Our students are also incredibly active learners, and love the freedom that some of our flexible seating has provided. Currently we have some alternative desks and lowered tables, but we lack the movement that a wobble stool can provide. By adding wobble stools to our classroom, even our most wiggly students will be able to learn comfortably.
