This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are full of curiosity, questions and love to talk. Whether they are telling me about their weekend or engaging in meaningful academic conversations with their peers, my students this year are naturally social beings. Even though this is all through a camera as we are 100% remote learning this year, my students' needs have not changed.
Each and every day they are overcoming obstacles in their path to becoming the best they can be.
Students in my classroom learn every day through whole group and small groups. I incorporate a variety of different instruction and strategies to meet my student where they are. This way ensures that all students' needs are being met. My students have a love of learning that any teacher would wish to have as a class.
My Project
We all know learning this year has been in a class all on its own. My students are 100% online this school year. Learning virtually is new to all of us. A gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers will allow me to provide more differentiation and activities for my students to do online.
My students still need paper and pencil activities as well.
Being in second grade my students must still be able to practice using more than just a laptop. I want to mail each of them a folder with Math, Reading, and Writing materials in it so they can practice their basic skills at home. Practicing basic skills using paper and pencil work is essential to their learning. If we learn two and three-digit addition/subtraction of numbers virtually, I want my students to be able to practice the skill using paper and pencil to work through problems. By giving my students folders and other supplies I can print, organize, and mail to their homes, packets that are differentiated to their specific learning needs. My students can then practice these basic skills on their own time.
Together we are navigating through these new challenges and gaining insights about how to teach and learn more effectively each day.
