This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am a first-grade teacher at a public school. My students are excited about learning and want to excel in school. I have a wide range of learning abilities in my classroom. My students come from diverse backgrounds with a variety of needs. Some have autism, ADD, or ADHD, but all of the children have the same desire to learn.
My students are sweet.
They are excited and ready to learn, explore, and take on the world. They are excited from the time they get off the bus in the morning to when they leave at night.
Custodians have a huge job and unfortunately, they are hard to come by. Our custodian mops our classrooms and wipes our tables weekly. Mopping and cleaning schedules are made to switch off which rooms each week are mopped and/or wiped down but sometimes if an emergency arises a room may be skipped.
A clean and healthy classroom is important for students to feel safe and learn.
Having the ability to clean the classroom is important for me.
A wet Swifter and wipes would allow me to mop and clean after school or in the morning before the kids get there. Kleenex for those running noses that are always present in First Grade. This would be so helpful for the students and the custodian!
