During remote learning, my students became accustomed to studying in a variety of positions of laying down, sitting on a couch, or even sprawled out on the floor of their home. In the classroom, my students continue to enjoy learning in a comfortable setting. Therefore, we spend a lot of our learning in preferential seating arrangements around the classroom to work independently or to collaborate with peers in small groups. However, we currently have standard out dated individual desks that often doesn't allow for a collaboration space. Students are having to sit on a cold tiled floor, stand up hunching down on a book shelf, or crowding around a counter space in order to work with each other.
These flexible seatings will allow my students to have the opportunity to learn comfortably by creating a 21st century classroom setting.
Students will have the opportunity to choose their learning space, around the classroom, to help them focus and demonstrate independent college and career study behaviors. Flexible seatings will support different physical modes of learning within the learning environment.
