Learning How to Read Music With Orff Instruments

Help me give my students Orff Instruments so they can learn how to read music and learn how to play an instrument!

My Project

These Orff Instruments will benefit my students greatly. These instruments will help my students learn how to read music and will help prepare them for a future in the band if they choose to join. I plan on using these instruments with all my students, but we will use these most with my third through fifth graders.

These Orff Instruments will not only help my students learn how to read music on a staff, but they will also be able to hear what each note sounds like while they read the music.

This is extremely important in music and takes a long time to develop this skill, so I want to start teaching them these skills as soon as I can.

We currently are singing and playing circle games to go along with these songs. This type of teaching helps students who learn better audibly, and physically. However, my goal is to have all students of all different learning styles be able to learn and enjoy music. If I were to have Orff Instruments in my classroom, these would cater to all preferred learning styles. For example, they will be reading the music, so that will help visually. They will also be playing the instruments, and singing the songs that we will play, which will help physically and audibly as well. Playing these instruments will also help prepare them for the fine motor skills needed to play a full-sized instrument.

In conclusion, these instruments would greatly benefit my classroom and my students. These students would be extra appreciative because they have never had any instruments like this in their music classroom before. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my project, and for considering helping my students learn how to read music with Orff Instruments.
