Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are curious, amazing people. Most come to me in kindergarten without having gone to preschool or daycare. They don't readily have access to dramatic play or pretend. They come from poverty, many with traumatic backgrounds.
They need help to develop basic social skills and learn how to work with each other.
I plan to use these materials to teach them how to interact appropriately with each other. These are the life skills everyone needs! Any help is appreciated!
My Project
Everyone needs to know how to get along with people in order to survive and thrive in this world. My students need to be taught how to play together. I've managed to cobble together some things to make a play kitchen with food. I'd love to add a "dress up" storage unit along with dress up clothes. I would like them to be able to dress up and play pretend in order to develop and refine social skills.
My students are working on becoming good citizens that can interact well with each other.
They need these supplies to facilitate dramatic play and develop life-long skills.
