This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This training teaches the skills needed to read high-frequency words—the small number of common words that make up the majority of English texts—without rote memorization of whole words.
It is important that students learn the method of sounding our words instead of memorizing words to help them become life long readers!
I am confident that the knowledge I will gain from this training will help me to become an even more effective reading teacher. The knowledge I will attain from this experience will benefit my students for years to come. In addition, I am requesting the Sounding Out the Sight Words Set, which contains all the tools needed to teach sight words in short lessons while having fun! This set helps students master sight words and unlock the code to read thousands of additional words fun and engaging ways.
