Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our preschool students are eager to learn through hands-on exploration. They are genuinely excited about preschool and enjoy celebrating their new accomplishments. Our students benefit greatly from opportunities to interact with new and exciting materials. We strive to provide numerous opportunities to build connections between previous knowledge and new learning.
Building independence is a priority for ALL students in our classrooms!
Teachers and their teams work collaboratively to provide high-quality instruction focused on language, social-emotional, play, and pre-academic development. Our classrooms include students who are at risk for future academic challenges as well as students with disabilities with more significant needs.
My Project
Students in our classrooms are developing a strong foundation to build upon. These materials would support the development of cause and effect skills, counting, sorting, turn-taking and social-emotional regulation.
These experiences are necessary for future academic success.
Some students need something in their hands to help calm and regulate their bodies for learning, and the addition of new fidgets would support this need. Building with Magna-Tiles sparks creativity as well as the development of math concepts. Learning to take turns is a skill we practice daily, and generalizing these skills using different games and activities would be a great benefit.
