Our school has been closed since March 13th. We had no idea that we would not be able to return to school so it had a huge impact on class moral. Although our school has provided iPads and Chromebooks, many students don't have access to internet service and are unable to participate in online learning.
My Project
Many of my students have not had access to learning since March 13th, the last day of school in our school building. With a lack of internet service and working class parents who are not able to take off of work to be home and help their children, our families are at a disadvantage. The summer slide will only add more of a gap in their education.
A summer learning package would greatly benefit my students because many of them are starting the summer already behind in learning.
With summer workbooks, they can continue to practice what they have already learned and try to catch up with new learning.
I have also included a book about going to second grade and sun glasses with bubbles to get them excited for coming back to school in the fall.
