This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are second graders living in the projects of New York City. A day in the life of my ICT students involves them teaching each other and working together. I, as their teacher, want to do my very best to make their year in second grade their most successful yet.
They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and mostly Spanish speaking or bilingual homes.
They come to school eager to learn and explore new things each and every day! Having different tools to use will help them become even more successful!
My Project
My students love to explore topics in different ways. These materials will help my students become better readers as well as demonstrating how they are as thinkers during lessons!
My students do not have a lot and they are an amazing bunch of second graders who love to learn!
With this project, they will be able to manipulate the curriculum and apply their own skills to achieve high standards. They can use the reading games to help them practice and reinforce skills they have learned.
The dry erase boards will give the students who are shy and not as eager to participate a voice during lessons and activities. They will be able to write down and share out ideas and answers to questions.
The tubs will allows my students to be more organized with materials, when they are more organized they are able to learn more!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
