This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I currently have 256 students in my school. My students are great students who have a love of technology, reading, writing, science, math, and social studies. They are very excited about learning, and I want to make the class interactive. I want to help them succeed in their challenging environment.
The students in my school are a diverse group of children who come from intricate family backgrounds.
Our school is located across the street from two homeless shelters for families. It is an upstart program that helps students and their families get help to find permanent housing. I teach at a low-income school and in a classroom full of eager learners who are enthusiastic about coming to school every day!
My Project
STEM education will allow me to enrich the minds of my students in engaging ways. My students have been awarded butterfly kits which include live caterpillars. I am requesting bags so that they can store all of their supplies. The will use the notebooks and pencils to record all of their notes from our butterfly garden project. Our first project will be about the butterfly garden and they will have the opportunity to study the life of a caterpillar. They each have a complete butterfly garden kit. This project will teach them not only about the science, but also about the life of a butterfly.
