This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are unique, imaginative, creative and fun-loving to say the least. They are an amazing group of children with the biggest hearts. Every day that we shared together in our classroom was a great day.
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, our learning environment has changed drastically.
Since many of my students live in low income households, online learning has proven especially difficult for them. My students don't have many supplies at home, but they still try their best to get online everyday to meet with me for lessons and they remain eager to learn.
My Project
As a third grade ICT teacher, I have had the pleasure of working with a group of wonderful students since the fall. This group of students are hands-on learners who are eager to participate in each lesson. They consistently show a positive mindset towards learning, despite facing personal challenges everyday.
Since Covid-19 separated us, our amazing students have been trying their best to learn from home, but do not have the supplies to do so.
Many of our students don't have a notebook to solve their math problems or write a response, crayons or markers to use to add to their assignments or use in their free time, or even pencils to write with.
We would like to provide our third graders with those supplies for the summer and fall, which we may be doing remotely.
