This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher that works in a Title I school district, I am aware of the many differences, challenges, and experiences that many of my students face. In my classroom, I strive to create an environment that allows students to be expressive and confident in themselves while learning to respect and embrace differences in others. I also emphasize that respecting our environment is important. My class will be using the green screen, iPad stand, and microphone to record news broadcasts in our room. The magnetic board and letters will be used to retell stories and practice literacy skills. The wobble seat and bean bag chairs will allow us to be flexible with our seating. The privacy boards will help us focus during assessments.
I want students to take pride in themselves, each other, and their classroom community.
Being organized and taking care of class resources by using items such as chair pockets and a utility cart builds character traits that are important. The chair pockets will be used to help students keep our class community clean and be able to transition efficiently. The utility carts will allow us to have storage for water and other class items close to our seating area. My students are enthusiastic and imaginative with a strong desire to express their thoughts in a variety of ways. They enjoy coming to school to learn from and teach each other.
