My 8th graders have been using their Chromebooks since they were in 5th grade and covid started. Unfortunately so many of these Chromebooks are in varying states of wear, tear and disrepair. This has become a problem because it prohibits some of my students from fully engaging in class. This is so frustrating as a teacher as I want all of my students to be active, engaged participants in my classes. We were doing so well when everyone had a Chromebook but now I feel like we are going backwards. I am teaching my students as learners in the 21st century. It is my job to empower them with knowledge, technology and skills for a better future. Without these Chromebooks I am limited and I never want limitations to stop me from doing what is best for my students.
