Learning for Little Fingers

Help me give my students fine motor skill activities for Morning Tubs that can be used every day of the school year for years and years to come!

My Students

My Kindergarten students in my class walked through the doors of school on the first day excited and ready to learn! However, they didn't quite know how they were going to learn. They just wanted to play! That's all kindergarten students want to do! That was okay, because most of Kindergarten IS about learning through play.

Their favorite part of the day was when they first got to school and got to choose a Morning Tub activity to complete.

While completing their activity, they were able to talk to their friends about things that were important to them while helping their friends complete the Morning Tub activity. Why was this their favorite part of the day? They had choice, they got to "play" AND they got to talk to their friends. This class was no different than any other kindergarten class. They wanted to come to school to meet new friends, talk, and play!

My Project

Fine Motor Skills are so important for a child just beginning school. These fine motor activities will make learning this skill fun by using assorted novelty items and objects to keep students engaged while strengthening their little fingers to be able to form letters, write their name, and take care of everyday activities independently.

These fine motor activities will be used in the morning for Morning Tubs.

Students will be able to choose a tub after unpacking in the morning and work with a partner or small group to problem solve the best way to complete the task.
