I teach in a full day preschool classroom with 24 children. These children live in a low-income area where many of them come to school without proper shoes, jackets, and food. I enjoy working in this area because it is so rewarding. It is remarkable watching my students overcome new obstacles every day. My classroom is like a second home for my students, most of them spend more than eight hours a day with me. They use my classroom as a place for warmth, love, and to escape their troubles. Regardless, of whats happening at home these children come to school cheerful, eager, and energetic to learn and explore new things.
As a teacher, it is very important for me to keep my children inspired, engaged and passionate about learning because these young children are the future.
Your generous donation will remarkably enhance their first learning experience. Thank you for helping me make a difference in the lives of these young learners.
My Project
Financial literacy starts at a young age. Sometime we spend money on things that are not necessarily need but want only.
I want to teach and expose my students to the value of financial literacy through pretend play.
I want to turn our dramatic play area into a supermarket with pretend fruits, vegetables, and other foods. I will put out play money so that some students can be the cashier while other students can be the customer shopping for food. Children needs to understand that financial security depends on hard work and making wise decisions. I hope that by having these engaging pretend play materials it will help them understand the importance of financial literacy so that they can be productive adults later on in life.
