This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are currently transitioning into a distance learning space due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

These sweet hardworking 2nd graders have been working diligently over the school year to make gains in their math and reading work.

We often work in collaborative groups. My goal is to continue this growth even though we have been forced out of the classroom. Right now they have been continuing their learning through work packets.

My Project

I am seeking essential items to help my students continue learning at home. I work at a title 1 school, where everyone receives free lunch. These basic items are not something you can find in their home. I would love to be able to provide a deck of cards to each student. There are a number of math possibilities they can learn and play with a deck of cards. I plan on giving them that paper along with the cards to further their math skills.

They need the basics, such as paper and pencils.

We need to have kids writing daily. The earbuds will help them stay focused on their digital work, if they are able to have access to a computer with internet.

Kids love to learn, we need to make sure they know, we will continue to be there to teach them.
