I am a Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) teacher who works with English language learners (ELLs) in a large urban district. Most of my students come from low income families and receive free breakfast and lunch every day. Their past educational experiences range from non-existent to limited. As a result, their educational needs are very diverse.
My students are always enthusiastic, curious, and have a love for learning.
However, many of my students have very limited resources available to them and I am always trying to find ways to make sure my students have everything they need to make their learning productive and successful.
My Project
Learning how to read is important for all students to master. For English language learners, learning how to read takes longer since they are learning English as well. My students love to be in centers with their peers and practice their English. In order for me to give my students the confidence they need to become better readers, I am asking for center folder games so my students will have fun hands on activities to help them with their listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I am hopeful that these center games will give my students the extra practice they need to become proficient in English!
