Help me give my students the tools and resources they need to learn English and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
The learning materials I’m requesting will be used for small group instruction with English Language Learners in K-5.
This past spring, our small community school in Brooklyn received approximately 80 new students from South America. These students came with various levels of prior education and had to quickly adjust to a new way of life, often understanding little of what was happening around them.
We strongly believe that all students have the right to learn.
Teachers and staff at my school worked tirelessly to help these children and their families feel comfortable in their new school and neighborhood. Many of these students have just returned for the start of a new school year, and I’m looking forward to picking up where we left off on their educational journey.
These educational materials will help me meet my students where they are at, and help them grow their literacy skills. The goal is to make learning fun so that school is a place where they can not only learn and grow but thrive!
