Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My ENL students have been working hard this school year to develop their English language skills, such as Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. They need these language skills to achieve grade levels in reading and writing. To support students, we launched an After School program held two days a week in partnership with Inside Broadway so that students can continue practicing English after school.
Having Encanto as the focus theme, students need a t-shirt representing what they have been learning about.
At the end of the program, students will celebrate their achievements by acting and singing the song "We Don't Talk About Bruno." Since families cannot afford to buy customs, students are willing to wear a t-shirt representing them during the presentation. Wearing the t-shirt with the Encanto logo will make students feel more secure and happy when presenting to their families, teachers, and classmates what they have learned during the past months in the After-School program. My ENL students are excited and looking forward to showing the world they are also part of the American culture as the rest of their Native English speakers' classmates.
