Help me give my students two sets of books "The Whispering Town" and "Two Tribes" and a color printer to help them learn about diversity and tolerance.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are English learners who are new to our country and learning a second language is easier by using picture books. However, they are not only learning English as their second language. They are also learning about history, diversity and multicultural communities like ours. The books will help them learn about all those concepts and also, they will learn grammar, vocabulary and critical thinking skills.
Furthermore, the color printer will help us to create sentence frames, colorful images and color-coded parts of speech to transform our classroom into a language rich environment.
