This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All of my students are eager to do their best, but language barriers can sometimes impact their confidence. When they truly understand the material, they perform at a higher level and can even teach others. It’s important for students to see themselves reflected in what they read, as stories of shared experiences inspire perseverance, even when learning feels challenging. I want to provide my students with opportunities to practice alongside their peers through engaging comprehension games, helping them strengthen their skills in a fun and supportive environment. My 3rd graders are special because they are curious, eager to learn, and full of energy. They’re at a critical stage where their confidence is growing, and they’re developing independence in their thinking. They embrace challenges with creativity and resilience, especially when given the right support. Their enthusiasm for hands-on learning, like comprehension games and project-based learning, makes every lesson an adventure. Plus, their kindness and willingness to help each other create a supportive classroom community where everyone has the chance to shine. My goal is to provide opportunities for students to teach and learn from one another through interactive activities. Also, equipping students with language skills they can apply beyond the classroom, fostering lifelong learning and communication.
