Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title I school in a city school district. In our public city school, many scholars are diverse, multiple language learners and at-risk readers. Currently, the entire school population receives free breakfast and lunch. Many scholars are also from low-income households. However, they are warm, loving, and continually searching for ways to grow and become better each day. I am honored to teach such wonderful children.
I enjoy providing scholars a multitude of experiences to connect the curriculum and enhance their learning while promoting equitable access and allowing them to be creative and stimulate their curiosity.
My scholars are eager to learn, excel and connect the curriculum in the school library media center. As the school librarian, I am able to reach every student in the school. I have been teaching for eighteen years and I take a great deal of pride in my work. I strive to make learning fun and engaging as I have been focusing on transdisciplinary learning to help scholars have authentic and powerful learning experiences.
My Project
Having state of the art technology is important to level the playing field, deliver lessons and professional development and immersing kids in an online learning experience. Scholars will benefit from this requested Surface Duo, cover and bumper by being connected to online resources in the classroom. Kids will have access to experts through Skype visits. They will participate in virtual field trips. They will complete research and projects, code and use the financial literacy lessons that are available online. Scholars will benefit by learning how to think outside the box and become greater independent learners with the ability to problem solve and think critically.
Thank you for your time, consideration and support of inner city public school children.
When you care about them, you care about the future!
