Learning Creatively From Home

Help me give my students the supplies they need to continue to express their creativity while they learn at home. They can paint, color or draw to show how they are feeling and learning while away from school.

My Students

My Kindergarteners are currently learning from home since school is closed due to COVID 19. The majority of them do not have the resources available to them at home for school activities. When school was in session we did activities that were hands-on and engaging and involved the use of manipulatives. My lessons allowed for them to express their creativity in a variety of ways. Now they have to complete activities in a book with little help from an adult at home. The activities are paper pencil and pretty boring. There is no room for creativity.

My students want to express themselves!

They want to share their thoughts and feelings! Some students are able to interact online. I am able to communicate with some students via text or email. I want all my students to have the resources they need to feel happy and safe during this uncertain time.

My Project

When school was in session my students had many opportunities and ways to express how they were feeling and to share what they were learning. Since school has been closed those opportunities have not been available to them. My project "Learning Creatively From Home" will allow me to assemble bags of materials that I can drop off to my students filled with supplies for them to use. The bags will have watercolor paint, scissors and glue, a notebook and pencil, crayons, some paper, a jar of Play-Doh, a white board and marker, and a clipboard. With these supplies my students will be able to participate in lessons, show their learning, express their feelings, and have a creative outlet for their emotions.

Even though we are apart we can still learn together.

Once my students have their supplies they will also be able to use them while completing lessons online.
