This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning computer science in Elementary School is a rarity in our neighborhood. It shouldn't be! I have been given an opportunity to introduce coding, robotics, and computer science concepts to young learners and I wholeheartedly believe that it will ignite a much-needed spark in our community.

Early computer science can help establish a healthy relationship with technology.

I will use the Sphero robots and stickers to build fun coding lessons and teach the idea that if problems are broken into small parts, they are easier to solve. That concept is empowering.

As coding becomes ingrained, it will also enhance creativity and collaboration. Those are two concepts that will follow our students for the rest of their school journeys and keep learning fresh and fun. Thank you for your support.
