Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students need an opportunity to wiggle and move while seated at their desks and while reading. The chairs will provide the comfort for longer reads as well as mobility if needed! Quality seating has become more important as the hours of learning have increased.
Being able to wiggle, move, and activate core muscles while working will increase student engagement and attentiveness as well as physical health and well-being.
Learning and productivity will certainly increase as student's sensory needs are met.
The office chairs will provide the students that need to move the opportunity to get their energy out in a productive manner, while still reading their favorite books.
Our old, squeaky, hard, chipped, and wobbly chairs are uncomfortable and only frustrate our students at their desks. Active sitting and the resulting attentiveness, engagement, and sensory stimulation will help students feel valued, successful, and energized while they work at their desk! With your support, our students will have this new sense of accomplishment.
