I will be fortunate enough to teach creative, energetic, and curious scholars entering third grade. The majority of these students come from low-income households, as well as diverse backgrounds. One of the biggest things they all have in common is their passion and dedication to learning. They enjoy experiencing learning through hands-on activities, collaboration, and movement around the classroom. All my students have a unique learning style and have different learning needs. They thrive in environments that allow for creativity and autonomy over their own learning. They would all benefit from the opportunity to learn in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment that provides them the space and resources to explore.
My Project
My class is full of incredible young scholars who just need the right tools available to help them reach their greatest potential; thus, I am requesting donations to support my students. The donations I am requesting will go toward my classroom’s math and reading centers. Here, while I work with small groups, remaining students are given the opportunity to work independently on math and reading skills.
These literacy centers will allow the students to work on differentiated instructional tasks, and practice skills and strategies that are developmentally appropriate.
The materials requested will target the skills needed for students to be successful, independent scholars.
These activities will allow students to be held accountable for certain tasks and learn to work cooperatively and independently. Learning centers create exceptional learning environments; thus, I know that Learning Centers That Support Independent Scholars will have a positive and progressive impact on student learning.
