This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students come from mostly low-income, high-poverty Spanish-speaking households. They are part of loving families but are faced with difficult challenges both in and out of the classroom.
It is important for me to provide my students with a challenging, creative, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
My Project
The students in my class absolutely love center time. It is a time when science, math, art, reading, and writing come together in a fun and open-ended environment. These supplies will give us the supplies we need to keep the learning going for the rest of the school year! Students will be able to use the journals and writing supplies to express themselves in the writing center. The playdough and mats will reinforce letter recognition and the 3D shape craft will give them the opportunity to make their own creations. The art supplies will foster their creativity in countless ways.
