Learning Can Be Messy, and That's Okay!

Help me give my students a vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, mop, and cleaning supplies to help them learn responsibility and allow us to be creative and messy in our learning.

My Students

I teach a blended classroom of first and second graders.

Their enthusiasm for learning and their smiles every day make me love my job.

I am so happy to be their teacher.

My students come to me with different ability levels, backgrounds, and learning needs. They deserve the best, and I want to give them that. My school is a Title I-funded school with 100% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

My Project

Every teacher knows that kids are messy! They always seem to be covered in dirt, food or paint. I see these as signs that they are having fun and learning new things without worrying about making a mess.

Our janitor works so hard to keep our school looking so clean and spotless, We want to be able to help him out a little instead of making his job harder when we get messy during learning.

With these cleaning supplies, the students will be able to clean up after themselves if they spill paint or glitter. They can easily vacuum up the dirt from their science experiment or rice from the sensory table. They can worry less about what a mess they are making and focus more on the learning they are doing! The students will also be taught how to use the vacuum, carpet cleaner, and mop, and when. This will instill responsibility in them that will help them at home and beyond.
