My Project
The class set of Stamped will help my US History students understand the history of race in America in a cohesive, thoughtful, and objective way and enable them to better understand how we got to now and why we need to change as well as what we need to do to change. The focus is on student agency and ability to impact and make the changes they wish to see in our world, but the first step is to make the "invisible" systems at play, visible.
Additionally, the copy of Predictably Irrational will help my Econ students understand the influence of behavioral economics on people's decisions as well as their own so they can make wiser financial choices in their own lives.
Again, by making the "invisible" forces 'visible" students can make more informed decisions for themselves as they move into the world beyond school.
In both cases, we will use the information within the context of project-based learning and use the information we gain from these resources to tackle real-life situations.
