This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is an SES (Social Economic School). Many of our students are free or reduced lunch. A big percentage of our students come from bilingual homes and families. They love school and come each day to explore, think and learn.
The teachers and I teach all our students to be life learners and citizens in our community and world.
We teach and bring in the real-world activities and experiences into our learning and teaching classroom. This helps students make connections from their learning to their real-world.
My Project
With Covid, I am teaching students in person at school and on zoom remotely at home. Sometimes, it's hard for the students at home to participate with hands-on activities if they don't have the same resources like the in person students at school. I would love to be able to send these supplies to their home to use.
Also, I would like the in person students to have their own set of supplies to help the touching and sharing of the items.
We don't know how long Covid will be here, but I am trying to plan ahead to get ready for all my students to be productive in their learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
