Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Robert Fulghum once said, "Kindergarten children are confident in spirit, infinite in resources, and eager to learn. Everything is still possible."

The wonderful kindergarten students I teach come from a variety of different homes in a heavily diverse, low income community.

Many of my students have not gone to preschool, and come in knowing very little to nothing about letter names, formation, or sounds. I am always looking for ways to develop language, social skills, and fine motor skills in my classroom.

As we continue to learn from home, I want to make sure my students have the materials they need to grow and be ready for first grade.

My Project

When the students receive their at home kits, it will give them colorful ways to work on letter sounds and creating words, as well as counting and one to one number correspondence. They all will have a writing journal that they can improve their writing skills.

When students all have the same materials it gives them confidence to continue learning.

When it is all together in one bag, it adds to that confidence by being independent and knowing where all their supplies are held. It helps streamline our remote learning day.
