Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my classroom, I teach a morning and an afternoon session of 30 preschoolers in an inner city, urban setting. These children are ages 3-5 and half of them are on individualized educational plans for a variety of developing needs. Room P-11 is a vibrant class of students who are always eager to learn and participate. From our early morning meetings, practicing our number of the day, and many loud and cheerful sing a longs, we provide and encourage learning that is not only educational but enjoyable for all ages.
The goal for our children is to impact them, love them, and make individual student goals to ready them for Kindergarten.
As we enter a different type of school year, with virtual learning, our goal continues to remain the same for each of our special students. This year will be challenging, but as a community we will do our best to equip them with emotional and educational needs so that our children will thrive.
My Project
In a child's life, their first teachers will always be their parents and caregivers. Children then continue learning through life with their neighbors, coaches, mentors, and loved ones. The impact they leave in a child's life is immeasurable.
This year our focus is to create stronger teaching villages between teachers, families, and communities.
This year we need each other more than ever, because no child should be left behind!
All purchases of these supplies will allow safer, engaging, and important tools to master this new year together. It is of great importance that we assist the beginning of these children's lives so that they will grow up to be leaders, innovators, and scholars.
