My first grade classroom is a place for students of all backgrounds to come, learn, and grow. In the year to come, students will be starting the year as distance learners. Students will learn about what it looks like to be a good citizen, dive into addition and subtraction, and how technology can be used as a tool to help us better understand the world around us.
Each student in our class is unique and special in their own way and as a class, we strive to support one another in these diverse needs through the use of technology.
My students are directly impacted by the world around them and as an educator, I aspire to create a place for these students to become life long learners. Each one of them has passions, dreams, and aspirations they hope to one day achieve. As their teacher, I love to encourage, guide and help them as they continue to grow. Having current technology will allow us to better accomplish these goals as we tackle of the challenge of distance learning.
My Project
As we begin this time of distance learning, students are more reliant than ever on reliable technology, and educators even more so. Without reliable and efficient technology, our students could miss out on even more then they already have. Having up to date technology will ensure that students have every opportunity to learn and connect to the curriculum from afar.
Having an iPad will allow the teacher to create presentations and lessons that can then be shared through our learning management platform as well as live, through our video conferencing platform.
Current technology increases the likelihood that students will be able to easily access the subject content being presented. With this technology our students can view and interact easily with creative and engaging lessons.
