My students walk into our classroom every day, full of love, eager to learn, and excited for what is in store for them for the day.
Our school serves students K-6 and provides rigorous academics, talented teachers, and a safe learning environment.
Our goal as a school is to "get better every day."
I teach our youngest learners at an elementary school in Colorado! Kindergarteners need so much time to play, explore, and learn about the world around them! Unfortunately, we don't always have all of the classroom materials that we need to make this happen. Please help support my classroom and please help to enrich our learning environment for our young learners!
My Project
As standards and educational demands increase on our students, the idea of dramatic play is quickly becoming a practice of the past. Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play, children learn how to learn. Decades of research tells us that play is an essential part of children's healthy growth and development.
Early childhood experts have long agreed that young children who are provided with rich play-based learning environments excel in all domains of development and learning.
Adding a kitchen to our dramatic play area would benefit the children in many ways.
Play helps children increase their memory, critical thinking skills, self-regulation, social skills, oral language skills, literacy skills, mathematical and problem-solving skills, and lays the foundation for all academic learning. Play is truly the work of children. Please help bring play back into our Kindergarten classroom!
