Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in high poverty center city school in the third largest city in Pennsylvania. Our district does not have the resources to give to the teachers so they can purchase the materials they need for their classrooms.
My students are learning sponges!
They all learn in different ways so as a teacher I am constantly coming up with new techniques to make learning fun as well as memorable. Some days the learning comes easy and other days it just takes a little longer but we never give up.
My Project
Each one of my student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) contains a section entitled Specially Designed Instruction. In this section a teacher lists tools they use to increase student learning and success.
One of my students weighs more than I do and requires a larger ball type chair so he can bounce his way toward learning.
Having the Galiam Ulitimate Balance Ball Chair will provide him with a chair that fits him better and is more comfortable than some of the smaller ball chairs I have in the classroom. A good feature of this ball chair is it's portability. When my student goes into a regular education classroom setting I can ensure the ball chair is in place to continue his positive learning experience.
